Sketch Up: Performance Creation Lab
Working on a performance piece? Or want to? Storytelling, comedy sketch, physical theatre or spoken word?
A weekend workshop to craft your unique performance piece. With group exercises & 1 to 1 feedback.
THE WORKSHOP WILL EXPLORE:
– Your creative starting point, using movement & imrpov excercises to identify your theme.
– Styles of performance & structuring principles i.e. narrative journey, use of space, use of rhythm, speaking with the body & movement.
– Your connection with the audience & structuring an emotional arc: offering audiences a complete journey, big or small.
Some people may come with a sketch idea or story in mind & others may have no idea what they wish to create. If the latter applies, you’re invited to bring an object, story, picture, anecdote… or other material to use as your point of departure.
