Approach:

The aim of Out of the Voicebox is simple: to bring your voice out of it’s box. Whether it is to do with technique, physical tension, creative expression or musicality, I have a toolbox of exercises and tricks taken from training in Classical, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Popular, World and Folk traditions, as well as Improvisation, Composition, Creative Writing, Theatre, Yoga, Laughter Yoga, Dance, Meditation and Remedial massage.

With this fruity mix of approaches, I keep sessions fresh and interesting, giving you more than one way to discover your voice.

One-to-one Vocal Coaching

One-to-one coaching is a great opportunity to really get to the bottom of what you want from your voice, whether you want to work towards personal or professional goals. Sessions are relaxed, fun and focused, covering aspects of anatomy, attitude, support, maintenance, musicality and repertoire.

Cost:

£25 for 1 hour, and £30 for 1 hour and a half.
4 x 1 hour sessions for £90.

Vocal Massage

Using a combination of techniques from Remedial massage, Indian Head massage, Lymphatic and Sinus drainage, Hopi ear candling and Facial rejuvenation massage, Vocal massage aims to clear the ears, nose and throat of congestion that affects vocal production, and relieves tension in the jaw muscles, face, neck, and shoulders that support the flexibility of the larynx. Vocal massage can be a therapeutic aid for rehabilitating vocal injuries and repetitive strain. It is also an invaluable aid if you are a regular voice user, whether as a singer or teacher, especially if you are prone to losing your voice or experiencing strain.

The effect

Leaves your voice feeling freer, and able to hit notes with greater ease, with a reduction in the dampening ‘nasal’ effect and excess mucus that can be caused by blocked sinuses and lymph system. Hopi ear candling can unblock your inner ears to help you ‘hear’ the notes you are aiming for more clearly, brightening your tone and lifting your upper range.

Cost:

£35 for a 1 hour session.
3 sessions for £90.

Hire Out of the Voicebox workshops for Team Building:

Singing is a fantastic activity for Team Building. It teaches a group of people how to work together to solve problems creatively, how to really listen to each other, and how to laugh at our mistakes. The icebreakers and vocal games help a group to bond and feel comfortable with each other, while the songs create a sense of pride and awe at what can be achieved as a group.
