Alexandra Hofgartner is a multi skilled performance artist who uses aerial and physical theatre to create worlds of narrative beauty.
Alexandra graduated from the prestigious contemporary circus school Circomedia in Bristol in 2010 where she specialised in aerial hoop and physical theatre. Her other training includes the circus centres of excellence Zip Zap in South Africa, La Grainerie in France and Flic in Italy.
Alexandra combines her contemporary aerial circus and physical theatre with years of dance experience. With flawless feminine éclat, she creates sophisticated and beautiful performance art. Alexandra also draws on her strong comedic sensibilities and is never scared to explore the grotesque and the darker side of humour. Her art evokes the excitement of new beginnings, the exhilaration of change and the magic of metamorphosis, she makes work that creates a world for her audience to escape within.
Her intimate and creative style of performance has graced a variety of international stages from Melbourne to London. At home in the UK, performing her solo acts, she is a regular feature with The Ministry of Burlesque. She has also worked with a number of notable companies including Company Malakhi, Charody Productions, Cirque Bijou, Dark Island Dance and Impact Artists.
She has an eclectic love of Antiques, International Cinema and the Natural World, and draws on these to allow her to follow her true passion – storytelling.
Her work is suitable for a range of events including theatre shows and cabarets, to corporate and other bespoke events.
