Exploring Oxford based author Mini Grey’s children’s books Traction Man with Wild Boor Ideas, a Pegasus supported artist.rnrnThis work in progress performance was created to inspire a love for books and reading in children aged 4 years up and their families. This project was the first phase of development in order to collect feedback from audiences and present ideas to the author, publishers and theatre programmers. The final show is intended to target school groups as well as theatre audiences as a tool to improve literacy levels.rnrnMini Grey is a celebrated children’s author and illustrator of books including Biscuit Bear, (which won Nestle Smarties Gold Prize in 2004), and The Adventures of the Dish and the Spoon (winner of The Nestle Bronze in 2006 and the Greenaway Award in 2007). Mini will advise on the script and provide illustrative material for promotion.rnMini Grey author and illustrator of Traction Man said this about the project:rnrn“Traction Man is Here is a book all about how a bit of imagination can bring everything around you to life – especially when you’re playing with your favourite toy. I can’t wait to see how Emma’s team take the world of a boy and his action figure’s imaginary adventures, and reinvent it with theatre and puppetry.”rnrn
