Physical theatre maker, writer and illustrator.

I am a Lecoq-trained physical theatre practitioner and theatre maker, with a particular interest in puppetry, mask and animation/film in performance.

My solo work incorporates physically engaged storytelling and my own animations. I’m not that keen on creating autobiographical work, preferring to dabble in magical realism and the absurd. My most recent project The North! The North! premiered at Edinburgh Fringe 2017 and will be touring during 2018. More information available here.

I am always interested in new collaborations across a range of disciplines. I have worked as a director with various companies and artists including On The Run Theatre and Viki Browne.

I am an experienced workshop facilitator, working with a diverse range of organisations, including Tobacco Factory Theatres and Circomedia. I am available for freelance workshop facilitation in physical theatre (Lecoq and technical skills i.e. mime), devising techniques and storytelling.

Outside of theatre, I work as an illustrator on a freelance basis. Previous illustration and animation clients include The Guardian and Sony, as well as theatre companies On The Run and Created a Monster. I am available for illustration and design work for theatre posters/flyers, logos and more.

The North! The North! by Christopher Harrisson

Portfolio image:
Premiered at Summerhall, Edinburgh Fringe 2017.   In 1985, a fissure formed at England’s centre and split the north from the south. A real gap, descending into an abyss of bottomless depth. In the north, cut off, things began to stir. After some shocking news, a young man embarks on an extraordinary, surreal journey from the lights of the City back to where it all began: the dark and bloody heart of the north. There monsters lurk and a reckoning waits. In this acclaimed solo show, highly physical storytelling and animation combine in a grotesque roadtrip through a world bent out of shape. “Stunningly immersive… a myth of staggering beauty.” ★★★★★ Edinburgh Festivals Magazine ★★★★ The Stage ★★★★★ British Theatre Guide ★★★★ A Younger Theatre ★★★★ ThreeWeeks ★★★★ The Wee Review ★★★★ Broadway World
