ÒRAN WORK CENTRE
The Òran Work Centre is a training and research centre offering space for artists and practitioners to engage with an intensive and immersive investigation of self within the framework of community. Focusing on the performance arts and excavating the inner and outer processes of the actor, the Work Centre researches traditional practice and is designed to hold artists in community while they develop their craft.
WHAT DOES IT OFFER?
The Work Centre provides a regular laboratory environment for actors, dancers and artists of all levels to develop skills and practice in Bristol and the South West. Work will follow a series of ‘Research Cycles’ and One-Day workshops, focussing on practice, research and ensemble via the body, voice, text-based practice, percussion and song traditions of this land.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Anyone who has an interest in laboratory style training and developing research through practice. Actors and performance practitioners of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome. The work requires physical and vocal stamina but is designed to be inclusive and adaptable. Whoever come are the right people.
