Jack Drewry

Jack Drewry is a Bristol based theatre maker, musician and performer who graduated in 2012 with a BA in Drama from Queen’s University Belfast. His recent credits include, assistant director on Pictures At An Exhibition (Bristol Old Vic Young Company 2012, dir. John Retallack choreographed by Champloo Dance Company), he directed Mobile Phone Show as part of the National Theatre Connections festival (Bristol Old Vic Studio, 2013), he was assistant musical director on The Life After (Bristol Old Vic Young Company, 2013) and performed with Firebird Theatre in The Breadhorse (Bristol Old Vic Studio, 2013)

Jack is a theatre-maker, musician and performer with a particular interest in collaboratively devised theatre. He graduated in 2012 from Queen’s University Belfast with BA (Hons) in Drama.

Recent credits include the Asia/Australia tour of We’re Going On A Bear Hunt as ASM/Understudy and Buddy The Dog (Bath Theatre Royal and Cambridge Arts Theatre). He was Assistant Director on Sally Cookson’s outside summer show The Boy Who Cried Wolf (Bristol Old Vic), Assistant Director on Amanda Whittington’s The Dug Out (Tobacco Factory Theatre) where he focused on group ensemble work and he was Co-Director on Guilty Party’s Conviction (Bristol Old Vic Studio) for which he also composed and performed much of the music.

Other credits include: Performer on The Breadhorse with Firebird Theatre, Director on Mobile Phone Show (Bristol Old Vic Studio) part of the NT Connections Festival; Assistant Director on Pictures At An Exhibition with Bristol Old Vic Young Company and Champloo Dance Company (Bristol Old Vic Studio); Assistant Musical Director on The Life After (Bristol Old Vic).

Inspired by the remarkable escape of inmates from a maximum security prison, Conviction tells the story of four young offenders on the run. Using physical theatre, live music, and the power of the ensemble, Guilty Party create cinematic theatre of the imagination which asks questions about morality, justice and the perfect getaway.
