Actor, at home performing both drama and comedy. Director. Writer and performer of sketches and comedy blog www.putitinasketch.blogspot.com
I am the Principal of the Pauline Quirke Academy in Bristol
I’m a born and bred Bristolian (although no accent) actor, comedian, director and writer.
I began performing as a child in dance shows and amateur dramatics as well as throughout school and I was a member of The National Youth Theatre.
After gaining my BA (Hons) degree in drama and English at UWE, I trained in acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NY and in repertory theatre in and around London.
When I lived in London I worked in the cafe at The Actors Centre to acrue credits for classes and workshops, which I loved, it is one of my favourite places to go in London. The classes I took included:
*Advanced Impro course with Kevin Tomlinson
* Finbar Lynch Shakespeare Masterclass
* Janet Suzman Shakespeare Workshop
In recent years I have co-directed the annual musicals for the Centre of Performing Arts (CPA) at UWE as well as directing for Bristol Amateur Operatic Society (BAOS) and BLOC Productions and have co-directed new work in Bristol.
Every month I am on BBC Bristol radio presenting their paper review, highlighting all the weird and wacky stories of that month.
In 2018 I took my first solo comedy show to the Edinburgh Fringe for the month and then took to Bristol and London Venues.
I will be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 with my new solo comedy show as well as performing it in Bristol and London.
