Jon Attwood

Actor, Director and Theatre Maker

My name is Jon, and I’m an Actor, Director and Theatre Maker based in Bristol / South West.

I trained at the Bristol Institute of Performing Arts. I have also trained with ‘The Bristol Acting Academy’ and ‘The Met Film School’.

I’ve always believed in doing something you love and I am passionate about working in theatre. Whilst in training, I have enjoyed opportunity to play a range of different characters from ‘Johnny Byron’ in ‘Jerusalem’ (2017) and ‘Victor Frankenstein, in ‘Frankenstein’ (2018) to ‘Oberon’ in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ (2018). I’ve also performed with other companies in productions such as ‘The Unimaginable’s’ ‘Fade Away’ (2015) and ‘The Fringe Files’ ‘Planet Of The Zers’ (2016).

I specialise in creating new exiting works with an emphasis on comedy. I am one fifth of ‘Fandango Theatre Co’, who devise and create fun, engaging and often dark humoured theatre for audiences of all kinds. Our show ‘D!CK; The Rise and Fall of Dick Turpin’ allowed me to showcase my skills not only as a performer but as Theatre Maker, working as a Dramaturg, Set Builder, Director and also marketing.

With a background in the Construction Industry, I find myself hugely resourceful to have on set and in the rehearsal room. As the Founder of ‘Attwood Creative’ I have built sets for ‘The Bristol Acting Academy/Cheers Drive Theatre’ with ‘Women Beware Men; Men beware women’ (2013), Government inspector (2016) and ‘Loveplay’ (2017) I also built the set for ‘Prime Theatre’s ‘Last Thursday’ (2016).

I’m alway looking to increase my skill-set as I continue to work in the cultural and creative industries as well as specialising in theatre. I’m confident working collaboratively with technical teams as well as creative covering most aspects of production.

I also drive a van..!
