Josephine Hill

My name is Josephine Hill and I’m a 5ft7 actress based in Bristol. I have experience in Tv, stage and film. I have been a part of the Bristol Old Vic Young Company since the age of 7 and got into the National Youth Theatre at the age of 14. I am one of 12 young people participating in the Bristol Old Vic’s ‘Made in Bristol’ scheme, where we receive training from professional musicians and actors. The end result being that we form our own theatre company and devise a show to be performed at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Royal in June. I have plenty of experience with on screen work including featuring on a Victim Support online advert and as a busker for a BBC documentary alongside Dame Dianna Rigg. I study Arabic and Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh and have been heavily involved in the theatre scene there. I have performed in four plays and directed one. This year I am studying abroad in Amman and looking for acting work. As well as acting I am also a passionate musician. I received the title of Somerset’s young musician of the year in 2014. I have grade eight in both singing and violin and also take the lead vocals in a small music group where we write our own songs, busk and gig regularly.

I am also a theatre divisor and creator and actor musician. I have worked with Splint theatre at the Bristol Old Vic as an actor musician. I am a course assistant at the Bristol Old Vic also and help teach children theatre.
