Sarah McCourt

Actor, director, workshop leader and Arts Award Adviser. Experience includes stage, television, film, forum theatre and improvisation.

Trained as an actor and director at Manchester Metropolitan and Rose Bruford, I have extensive experience in Devising, Forum Theatre, and Mime, as well as Classical Theatre. I have worked in television, theatre, film and corporate roleplay.  Credits include Galavant (ABC Studios), Rewind (webseries), The Tempest and Macbeth (Individual Theatre), A Present for Anna and Help for Helen (Exstream Theatre). For full details see my Spotlight page.


I am also Co-Artistic director of Restless Theatre. The company grew out of my interest in adapting classic stories for contemporary performance. I founded the company in 2008 whilst completing an MFA in Staging Shakespeare at Exeter University, and completed my PhD thesis on small scale touring adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays.  For Restless Theatre I have appeared in Monstrous Love, Stormy WeatherThe Merchant of VenicePoint BlankMuch Ado About Nothing, Network Tales and Othello.

A qualified teacher with QTLS, I also run workshops and am a trained Bronze and Silver Arts Award facilitator.
