Sarah Scott

Freelance Drama & Singing Facilitator/Community Choir Leader

I am a creative individual with an established career working within arts education. I began my career working with young people in the centre of Bristol to provide mentoring through music and singing activities. This led me to working in various inner-city schools delivering performing arts workshops and then to leading inter-generational community choirs. This experience motivated me to become an SEN Drama Tutor working with young adults with complex learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and mental health issues. I have knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment and behaviour management strategies needed to make a positive impact on the progress of participants and learners. I have had experience with a huge range of social groups and this demonstrates my flexibility, adaptability and willingness to take on a challenge.

I am passionate about my work and hope that I have an enthusiastic and engaging personality. I work to inspire and motivate. I can adapt activities to be inclusive of all, facilitating the participation of all ages and abilities. I promote the learning of new skills and take every opportunity to integrate functional skills when required. My aim is always to engage people in the learning process with energy, humour and fun!

For the future I am interested to pursue teaching, facilitating, mentoring and outreach activities and am excited to engage in new experiences.
