Tommie James

From a small town in North Wales, Tommie grew up writing music from an early age along with studying piano. Having recently graduated with a degree in Creative Music Technology at The University of the West of England, he’s now a composer, producer and musical director based in Bristol.

Among popular artists such as The 1975, Bombay Bicycle Club and M83, Tommie’s biggest influences are Martin O’Donnell’s Halo soundtracks, Murray Gold’s work on Doctor Who, Nils Frahm, along with the film greats (Hans Zimmer, John Williams etc.)

His interests are ambient, contemporary and cinematic music composition for video games, trailers and Film & TV, producing theatrical backing tracks and writing, recording and performing with the Electric/Indie Rock band “Nova Luna”.


Musical Director – Half a Sixpence – TiC

I was the Musical Director for Half a Sixpence in the Pavilion Theatre, Rhyl performed by the award winning theatre company TiC (Theatre in the Community, Rhyl). The music involved full orchestral click track production and was performed with a 3-piece live band and received much praise from audience members.

Pantomime Guitarist

I was the Guitarist for Peter Pan in Telford’s Oakengates Theatre in December 2017 playing for a month of sold-out professional standard shows.

Musical Director for Nell Gwynn – St Albans Players

I was asked to be musical director for the Shakespearean comedy “Nell Gwynn” which turned out a huge success and an ambitious new venture for the group in St Albans in Bristol.
