What information do we collect and how do we use it?

We collect personal data from you when you register for one to one Artist Support, to attend an event, receive newsletters, contribute resources and join discussion forums. This information is protected by UK data protection law. We remind you about our data collection policy when you fill out your details on our registration form.

We ask you to provide us with personal details such as your name and email address — many fields on our registration form are optional but certain fields are mandatory. The data we collect from you is an important function in realising the aims of Theatre Bristol, namely to access more artists and creative freelancers who might benefit from our support. It also helps us to understand our site users and allows us to send you information regarding site or Theatre Bristol policy changes, such as modifications to our terms and conditions.

We do not share your personal information with third parties or send you Theatre Bristol communication without your prior consent — you give us your consent to do so by ticking the checkbox when you register on the site.

Theatre Bristol will always hold your details securely. We will keep to your current communications preferences. We’ll ensure you’re in control of your data. The resources or content you choose to provide is published publicly on this website. This data may be processed by Theatre Bristol for the purposes of enabling such publication and administering our website and services. You consent to this when you agree to our Terms & Conditions when submitting your content. You can delete any of this data by emailing us at info@theatrebristol.net

Deleting your information

If you wish to remove any information you have submitted to the site you can request this by emailing info@theatrebristol.net or calling us on 0117 373 8073.

Subscribing to our newsletter

When you choose to sign up for our newsletter:

 

  • we will collect your name and email address
  • you agree the collection, storage and processing of this personal information by us, using MailChimp
  • your personal information will be used to send you our newsletter and on occasion important information relating to Theatre Bristol or your account
  • the information we hold about you will be accurate and up to date. You can contact us on info@theatrebristol.net to check this information, and if it is inaccurate we will amend or delete it as requested

We use MailChimp to store email addresses and names; to send our newsletters and to track interactions from those newsletters. Please see MailChimp privacy policy for more information.

If you want to end your subscription to our newsletter you will find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter. You can also contact us on info@theatrebristol.net or on 0117 373 0873 to change your communication preferences.

Information gathered from competitions

Occasionally we run competitions on www.theatrebristol.net. We will usually ask you to submit your email address so that we can contact you if you win. If delivering your prize requires it we may share that email address with another organisation, for example if you have won theatre tickets we will normally pass your details to the box office of the Theatre so you can collect your prize.

 

Job applications

We may advertise a Theatre Bristol job vacancy on our website which you can apply for via email. We collect some basic personal information which is not shared with any other party.

Legal Requirements

Artist Support Privacy Policy

Our Artist Support service is bespoke to the artist or producer we are working with. It may take the form of meetings, Assemblies and other workshops, phone calls or email correspondence.

We will never share your email address with a third party and we will hold it securely. If you engage with our artist support service we will ask you if you consent to us keeping a record of your email address so we can keep in touch with you in future. This will only be with correspondence relevant to you, including the opportunity to take part in an Artist Support Engagement survey. These surveys are vital to us being able to monitor the impact of our artist support service, keep it free, and make it the best it can be.

Projects and Initiatives Privacy Policy

Our Projects include our performance Platforms, Action Learning, Assemblies, Open Spaces and other events and projects we take part in. If you engage with us in one of our projects we will collect your name, email address and occasionally phone number so we are able to keep in contact with you. This will only be with correspondence relevant to the project, including the opportunity to take part in a Theatre Bristol Engagement survey after the project is completed. These surveys are optional, and are vital to us being able to monitor the impact of our artist support service, keep it free, and make it the best it can be.
