PRIVACY

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

We collect personal data from you when you register for one to one Artist Support, to attend an event, receive newsletters, contribute resources and join discussion forums. This information is protected by UK data protection law. We remind you about our data collection policy when you fill out your details on our registration form.

We ask you to provide us with personal details such as your name and email address — many fields on our registration form are optional but certain fields are mandatory. The data we collect from you is an important function in realising the aims of Theatre Bristol, namely to access more artists and creative freelancers who might benefit from our support. It also helps us to understand our site users and allows us to send you information regarding site or Theatre Bristol policy changes, such as modifications to our terms and conditions.

We do not share your personal information with third parties or send you Theatre Bristol communication without your prior consent — you give us your consent to do so by ticking the checkbox when you register on the site.

Publicly posted information (Publication and Profile data)

The resources or content you choose to provide is published publicly on this website. This data may be processed by Theatre Bristol for the purposes of enabling such publication and administering our website and services.

You should be aware of the fact that publishing personally identifying information on the internet potentially puts you at risk of identity theft and weigh these risks when adding content to the site. You can find more information about preventing identity theft on this website: identitytheft.org.uk.

Information gathered from competitions

Occasionally we run competitions on www.theatrebristol.net. We will usually ask you to submit your email address so that we can contact you if you win. If delivering your prize requires it we may share that email address with another organisation, for example if you have won theatre tickets we will normally pass your details to the box office of the Theatre so you can collect your prize.

www.theatrebristol.net contains links to other websites — please remember that when you click on any of these links you’re moving onto another site and that their terms, conditions and policies will apply when you are visiting their pages, and these may differ from ours.

Legal Requirements

While it is unlikely, Theatre Bristol may be required to disclose your user data by a court order or to comply with other legal requirements. We will endeavour to inform you of this requirement wherever possible, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.

No commercial disposal to third parties

Theatre Bristol does not sell, rent or distribute any personally identifying data from our users to third parties for commercial purposes without your prior consent.

Data retention

Any personal data that we process for any purpose shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose. We will take steps to regularly audit the data we hold with a view to removing that which is no longer necessary for that purpose.
