Theatre Bristol has facilitated events, workshops and conferences since 2006 and has become a specialist in hosting them with and for the arts and cultural sector.

As well as running our own series of annual Open Space meetings called To You To Me, Theatre Bristol has worked with Arts Council England, Arts Council Wales, Improbable, Cirque Bijou, Strike A Light and other client to run events locally, regionally and internationally.

Get in touch to find out more about what we can offer. Our standard management fee for a one-day event is £700 which includes all planning, co-ordinating, facilitation and evaluation.

Most recently, we collaborated with Cirque Bijou on an event called Dreaming in the Big Top. We wanted to hold space for dreaming, think about reopening after the pandemic and consider how we build a fairer, more inclusive arts and culture scene.

The collaboration with Theatre Bristol to create Dreaming in the Big Top was a joy. Theatre Bristol developed the content and shaped the morning and really held the event for us. We are looking forward to doing many more.

Participants are gathered around the table inside the blue, big top. The one whose face we see looks at the facilitator who is pointing to a flip chart on the table, ready to write something down.

Here is an example workshop model that we have used previously:

Example Schedule:

  • Welcome and Warm Up (Facilitated by Artist)
  • Dreaming Session (individual or in a group)
  • World Café Discussions
  • Feeding Back from World Café
  • Dreaming Session (do you feel differently at the end of the session?) – We would ask participants to record their reflections on a postcard that we (Theatre Bristol) will post to them after the session.
  • Offers/Asks and Closing Exercise (Facilitated by Artist)

In a World Café format, each group would host a specific theme or question and the participants would move around the space so they could contribute to each discussion.

Please e-mail Eloise@theatrebristol.net for more information or to discuss your event.
