Join us at Circomedia on Thursday 2nd May 2019 for Testing Ground’s tenth birthday!!
Testing Ground: Experiments in Dance, a performance platform for dance work.
This year we are hoping to make it an extra special event. With this in mind, we are looking for:
- Dance artists and companies, emerging or established, to test new performance ideas in front of a live audience. We are looking for up to 5 pieces of dance/dance theatre work that are between 5 and 15 minutes in duration. Whatever stage of development your work is at, we are interested to hear from you. We aim for the platform to be highly supportive and nurturing for the artists involved. You will have the opportunity to receive feedback on your work through a question and answer session with the audience. For more information about this please see our our call out for dance artists here.
- Any dance or performance artists interested in performing a promenade/immersive/happening style work, which might take place in the bar/foyer/balcony/outside before or after the stage works. Although you won’t receive feedback during the Q&A session, there will be an opportunity for informal feedback during the final, more social part of the evening. For more information please see our call out for dance/performance artists here.
- Any dancer or performer musicians/sound artists interested in performing and/or providing music after the stage works during a more social part of the evening. For more information please see our call out for dance/performance artists and musicians/sound artists here.
The deadline for submission is 10am, Friday 8th March 2019.
Performers/companies will be informed by Monday 18th March 2019.
