What Works Wales

WHAT WORKS WALES

Theatre Bristol were commissioned by Arts Council Wales to carry out research into the need, potential and process for establishing producing hubs in Wales. We carried out six months of in depth research and analysis with theatremakers across the country and beyond, and will be sharing our learning soon.

This was the invitation we sent to engage people in the process:

How do you make brilliant quality live performance for audiences?

What processes work well for you and the sector?

What would you like to see change in the next 10 years to make it better?

We know there’s some fantastic theatre, dance and circus being made in Wales that people could learn from, and also that refining or redesigning some processes might help the sector to expand its reach and capacity.

Theatre Bristol is excited to have received the commission from Arts Council of Wales to research and report on how this might work, with a particular view to how shared producing resources could give everyone a better deal.

Over the next 3 months we’ll be talking to producers and makers of all stripes to discover, dream about and design brilliant ways of working. To do this well we need the community to be actively involved. We’ll be holding conversations across the country, and a big Creative Gathering to bring people together and develop new connections and ways of working. You can also feed in via Twitter @theatrebristol where we’ll be asking questions using the hashtag #WhatWorksWales

Our meeting dates are included below, and we’ll be updating this so do come back soon. You can also get hold of us at

We hope to see you soon!

Beth sy’n gweithio, Gymru?

Sut mae creu perfformiadau byw o safon wych i gynulleidfaoedd?
Pa brosesau sy’n gweithio’n dda i chi a’r sector?
Beth yr hoffech ei weld yn newid yn y 10 mlynedd nesaf i wneud pethau’n well?

Gwyddom fod theatr, dawns a syrcas wych yng Nghymru y gall pobl ei defnyddio’n esiampl. Gwyddom hefyd y gallai mireinio ac ailgynllunio ein prosesau alluogi’r sector i ehangu ei gyrraedd a’i gynhwysedd.
Mae Theatre Bristol wedi’i chyffroi ar ôl cael y comisiwn oddi wrth Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru i ymchwilio a llunio adroddiad am sut y byddai hyn yn gweithio gyda golwg arbennig ar rannu adnoddau cynhyrchu a sut y gallai hyn roi mantais i bawb.

Dros y 3 mis nesaf, siaradwn â chynhyrchwyr a gwneuthurwyr o bob math i ddarganfod a chynllunio ffyrdd gwych o weithio a breuddwydio yn eu cylch. Rhaid inni gael cymorth gweithredol y gymuned i wneud hyn. Cynhaliwn sgyrsiau ledled Cymru a Chynulliad Creadigol mawr i ddod â phobl at ei gilydd a datblygu cysylltiadau a ffyrdd o weithio newydd. Gellwch borthi’r broses drwy Drydar @theatrebristol lle gofynnwn gwestiynau gan ddefnyddio’r hashnod #BesyngWeithioCymru

Isod mae dyddiadau ein cyfarfodydd a bydd rhagor yn dilyn felly dewch yn ôl atom yn fuan. Gellwch hefyd gysylltu â ni drwy e-bostio

Gobeithio eich gweld yn fuan.
