Lottery money is not only distributed to the arts via the Arts Council England, but through several other major distributors: the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), the Big Lottery Fund (a merger of the Community Fund and New Opportunities Fund) and Nesta. The HLF helps arts groups to promote creativity in disadvantaged areas. NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) helps talented individuals, or groups of individuals involved in the arts to reach their creative potential.
It’s worth looking at these distributor’s joint website so you can establish which form of funding best suits your needs to ensure you target the right fund. You will also be able to keep updated on the development of the Big Lottery Fund programmes here. We need your help. We want to maintain this site for the 20,000 people who use it each month, but the technology it is built on needs serious updating. If you use the site please support us with a £3 donation, or whatever you feel able to give, so we can develop it and keep it a free and valuable resource for people who make and love theatre.
You can also give to us without costing you a penny by signing up to Easy Fundraising, so when you shop online from over 2500 retailers Theatre Bristol will receive a donation.
